Summary
The contributors to this book have drawn on different mentors to provide a framework for understanding the sexual problems of the couples they see, and to inform the work they do. But whether Freud, Jung, Klein or Bowlby has been the progenitor of their own particular therapeutic narrative, the spirit of enquiry and curiosity is evident in their approach. This has created space to explore the dimensions of sex, love, hate and power in ways that allow the facts of life to emerge and be discovered as something unique and authentic to each couple. It has also created a platform from which new und.

The advent of the all-volunteer force and the evolving nature of modern warfare have transformed our military, changing it in serious if subtle ways that few Americans are aware of. Edited by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy, this stimulating volume brings together insights from a remarkable group of scholars, who shed important new light on the changes effecting today's armed forces. Beginning with a Foreword by former Secretary of Defense William J. Perry, the contributors take an historical approach as they explore the ever-changing strategic, political, and fiscal contexts.

Summary
Medical technology broadly defined to include all aspects of the process of treating disease (e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and surgical procedures) is profoundly important for individual health and, consequently, also for general welfare. Advances in medical technology convey the prospect of both improved population health and increased general welfare. However, because of the extensive regulation of the markets for healthcare goods and services, the development and application of medical technologies differs fundamentally from non-medical technological advances. In this volume of the Advances in Health Economics and Health Services Research series we present several papers that provide theoretical and empirical evidence about the market for medical technology.

Summary
In a challenging new reading of Freud's case study of Serge Pankejeff, the "Wolf Man," Whitney Davis argues that the visual dimension of Freud's writing is crucial to an understanding of its structure and significance. Much of Freud's analysis revolved around Pankejeff's childhood dream of wolves and a drawing of this dream he made for Freud. Davis explores the drawing of the dream in Freud's interpretation of Pankejeff's "latent homosexuality," showing Freud's practice of making and using images to represent the history of persons and their sexuality. Davis also sets this case study in the wider context of Freud's evolving theoretical sexology and clinical work, his creation of psychoanalytic institutions, and his distinctive imagination of homosexual subjectivity.
