Author Notes

Maryanne Shearer and her business partner, Jan O'Connor, opened their first T2 store in 1996. In 2012 Maryanne was awarded Veuve Clicquot's Australian Business Woman of the Year. T2 continues to grow nationally and internationally and employs over 700 people. In 2013 T2 was sold to Unilever, but Maryanne remains as Managing Director and is passionate about global expansion of the brand.

In Shearer's gorgeous first book, the owner of tea chain juggernaut T2 details a variety of facts, stories, and recipes about the versatile drink. The book covers T2's rise to fame as well as histories of tea from around the globe. Readers will learn everything they'd ever like to know about the cultivation and preparation of tea. The unique, artistic details ("handwritten" fonts, nicknames for the staff, etc.) and delightful tips such as which sunglasses to wear or which type of chair to sit in when drinking make for a memorable read. VERDICt Complete with beautiful photographs and delicious recipes such as Rooibos pumpkin bites and chai shortbread, this is more than just an advertisement for T2; it is the adorable brainchild of a devoted author.
