Woodward, formerly an academic library administrator and now with a second career in public libraries, presents her thoughts on how academic libraries need to keep the customer's point of view in focus at all times. She discusses integrating technology to meet today's student and faculty needs, reevaluating the role and function of library service desks, implementing staffing strategies to match customer expectations, and creating effective promotional materials. One of the best chapters is Sharing Our Vision: Marketing the Academic Library, which covers formulating a marketing plan and identifying and reaching the customers.
