Looking for a life changing experience? Just a few weeks to spare? Whether you want to make a difference, or just do something different, Hands On Holidays is the definitive guide to finding the most rewarding short term breaks worldwide. Catering for all ages, budgets and interests, Hands On Holidays are for responsible travellers who want to use their holiday time to do something positive. They offer a real opportunity to get involved, to learn and contribute, and enjoy a more authentic travel experience. Traditionally rewarding travel has meant putting your life on hold, but Hands On Holidays last from just a few days to a month and so are perfect even for those with commitments at home, professionals on annual leave, and students during their vacation. Filled with photos and stories from those who have done it, Hands on Holidays contains complete and up to date details of organisations, charities and holiday ideas that you won't find anywhere else.
Author Notes
Guy Hobbs is an experienced author and has written a number of books. He has received excellent reviews for his work in a range of publications including The Times and The Independent. Before joining Vacation Work, Guy Hobbs was already a compulsive working traveller. After graduating from Cambridge, he picked grapes in France, taught English in Mexico, dressed as Father Christmas in Ecuador and played guitar in a bar in Peru. Fortunately for him this rather disparate experience proved extremely useful in the research for his books. Guy's words have found their way into a range of online and print media, though he feels most at home writing and editing books. Guy spends what time he can in Spain, regularly contributes to Spanish Magazine and frequently gives talks at Spanish property and lifestyle exhibitions up and down the country. He now lives in London where he works full-time on travel books.
