Business libraries supporting extensive international programs will want this comprehensive guide to print and online sources. The information is organized in 13 chapters, one covering the region and 12 covering countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Chapters are arranged in six sections: overview, current developments, companies and contacts, industries and services, legislation, and organizations. All citations are annotated. While the compiler recognizes that not everyone is willing to pay for information, she lists both free and fee-based sources, although the latter predominate. Fee-based resources listed include the Political Risk Service Country Reports, publications of the Economist Intelligence Unit, and the KOMPASS directories. Subscription prices are given in both pounds and dollars. Other entries include embassies, government statistical offices, ministries of economic affairs, and chambers of commerce. Addresses and phone numbers are included, and URLs are provided where available.
