Corbisiero (Univ. of Naples Federico II, Italy), Monaco (Free Univ. of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy), and Ruspini (Univ. of Milano-Bicocca, Italy) provide a timely text on research surrounding the younger generations and how they choose to engage with tourism. In Millennials, Generation Z and the Future of Tourism, the authors' goal is clear: "to focus on lifestyles, expectations and plans of the younger generations (from the millennial generation onwards) and how these generational groups are redefining and will redefine tourism" (p. viii). In a very accessible and easy to follow text, the authors cover events and experiences, the sharing economy, gender, LGBTQ+, and Next-Gen tourism. Though many of the examples mentioned throughout the volume are squarely focused on European contexts, implications are readily present for global destinations. One of the most attractive aspects of this book is the potential for future research on generational impacts for tourism, especially considering the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors do a marvelous job suggesting key avenues of research inquiry. Libraries with tourism collections centered on intergenerational studies, international tourism, and social tourism should acquire this book. Summing Up: Recommended.
