This volume provides a comprehensive account of the valuable tangible and intangible benefits of the development of heritage tourism. Tourism development is widely acknowledged as a crucial tool to foster the development of rural and urban areas. To this end, this book presents nine case studies from international authors that reflect how tourism development is helpful--economically, socially, and otherwise--for community capacity building. Author Notes

Surabhi Srivastava, PhD , is an Associate Professor at Om Kothari Institute of Management, Kota, Rajasthan. She was formerly a senior researcher at the University of Kota, India. Her core research area is exploring heritage tourism and the possibility of community development. She also studied tribal and nature tourism development with alternative tourism strategies. To date, she has authored five books on tourism development and has participated at and presented many research papers at national and international seminars and conferences. She has been teaching tourism management subjects for the last 20 years at various institutes in Lucknow, Kanpur, and Kota, India.
